Acting Executive Director

Natalija Vojno

Natalija Vojno works at the intersection of water policy and positive peace. As the Acting Executive Director at Shared Path, she is focussed on advancing reconciliation in land use planning in Ontario. This role builds upon her Masters in Public Policy at ICU where she examined braiding Indigenous and non-Indigenous worldviews within Great Lakes water governance.

Globally, she has spoken at the UN High-Level Political Forum on the role of youth in transboundary water governance, was a founding member of the Water Youth Network, and is an advisor to UNEP’s inaugural Faith for Earth Youth Council. She founded Our Future First to foster positive peace at home in Canada and her place of origin — the former Yugoslavia. As the Network Engagement Lead for Our Living Waters she works on supporting a network of 270+ watershed organizations across Canada. Whether as an environmental campaigner, network weaver, or when facilitating multi-stakeholder dialogues in the Great Lakes or abroad, she is focussed on creating spaces for more liveable futures to emerge.

Natalija trained in mediation and facilitation with Clingendael, MBBI, Soliya, and MITx. She holds a BA from the University of Toronto, an MSc from UNESCO-IHE, and an MA from ICU. She is a Rotary Peace Fellow and Positive Peace Activator.
