Highlighting Successful Practices in Indigenous-Municipal Engagement: Featuring the Muskoka Area Indigenous Leadership Table (MAILT)

On March 1, 2022 we hosted our first webinar in a series we are calling “Highlighting Successful Practices in Indigenous-Municipal Engagement.” We learned about the Muskoka Area Indigenous Leadership Table (MAILT), which is supporting better relationships between municipal governments and Indigenous Nations with historical and current ties to the lands that encompass Muskoka.

This webinar includes a presentation by Tina Kilbourne (CIU Team Lead, The District Municipality of Muskoka) on how the MAILT came to be and a chat with some of its current members including: Chief Ted Williams, Chippewas of Mnjikaning (Rama) First Nation, Mayor Peter Koetsier, Township of Georgian Bay, Mayor Terry Glover, Township of Lake of Bays, and Colette Isaac, Lands Manager, Moose Deer Point First Nation. Shared Path Board Director David Stinson (RPP) hosts this conversation and moderate a Q&A.
